Character Checklist
A checklist students can use to mark who they interacted with in the world.
Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays and one of his most studied. This world is designed to be used after students have read the play. The journey takes students through an abbreviated version of the plot in which they must talk with characters to review the story and get key quotes that reveal details as to Macbeth’s fall into violence and madness.
(lesson created in collaboration with Flory Mauriocourt, Ashland High School English Teacher & Katie Carruthers-Goodwill, Ashland High School Intervention Specialist)
Students will write a well-structured essay that describes what can be learned about human nature through the character of Macbeth. They should reference their MEE journey with specific quotes from characters within the world (many of these characters have direct quotes from the text).
Note: Teachers can change the topic and make their own rubric available to their students by editing the first Shakespeare NPC and the last Macbeth NPC. Both of these characters have a link to the grading rubric.
