Educator Guide Island 6
Lesson 6 world
French Language Resources
French language world and accompanying resources.
Welcome to the Kingdom of the Floating Islands. This mystical kingdom floats high above the world below. Throughout this collection of lessons, students will learn the basics of Python, through a series of themed tasks in each world. Completing these tasks will allow the kingdom to develop further technologically.
In Island 6, you will be focusing on using Lists. Lists are a special datatype in Python that allows you to store multiple other objects within them, for example multiple strings, integers or even other lists.
Lead-in:
Explain to students, that this island builds upon the previous work they have done in Island 5. Once again, their agent will be returning, although in this lesson they will be focusing on using Lists. Lists allow for the storage of lots of data, in a single easy to access data structure. Their agent will help them complete a series of tasks that they wouldn’t be able to otherwise complete.
CODING ACTIVITIES: 30-45 minutes
Activity 1: (Space Centre)
Activity 2: (Archaeological Dig)
Activity 3: (Rocket Defects)
Activity 4: (Airport Runway)
Completion:
Once the airport runway repainting is complete, the player is asked to return to the parliament building to speak with the Prime Minister. This completes the world.
Completion of all activities within the lesson is required.
