Learning Objectives

  • Students take an educational sled dog tour through the Arctic visiting 11 station stops along the way. Sometimes the NPC guide teaches them lessons, other times embedded video shows them real Arctic lifestyles. In Minecraft gold and diamonds are the prize and now students can learn about the process to get these precious rocks in Minecraft! There is a learning journal and selfie camera that each student takes on their journey and an answer key for teachers. Teacher support website too!

What does climate change look like in the Arctic?

What careers exist in the Arctic? What are the foods like?

Why is land so important in the Arctic and how are countries protecting their land rights with science and military?

Performance Expectations

Students will better understand Arctic opportunity and risks

Students will know how Igloos are made

Students will see Glacier Melt and how it impacts local wildlife

Students will better understand the importance of the land grab in the North

Students will be able to share several things they learned about the mining industry in real life that are similar to mining in Minecraft.

Students will appreciate the snow biome in Minecraft much more.
