Can students work as a team to win a friendly competition?
Can students use a given point system to determine mathematical answers based on the fish they caught as a team?
Can students respond to differing point systems and or fish amounts to solve mathematical problems?
Can older students apply algebraic substitution to solve mathematical problems?
Students will be split into two teams RED and WHITE
Students will spend 2-5 full days out on 3 lakes catching fish for their team and return those fish to the appropriate chests nightly
Students will answer a series of math questions from their teacher using the provided point system for fish or their own teacher's point system
Students will be able to respond to a differing point system and solve related mathematical problems as a team
Students work collaboratively to maximize the fish caught daily
Students use downtime effectively at night
Students are able to use the point system suggested to them and the types of fish caught to solve mathmetical problems presented by their teacher.
Students are able to adapt and solve problems for different situations and point systems (perhaps the other team's catch instead of their own as a way of checking to see if the scores are correct?)
